FOGSL successfully concluded its annual Beginners Field Study Techniques Workshop recently, which was held from 14-17th July 2011 at the Rajarata University premises located in the ancient city of Mihintale. 60 participants including eleven FOGSL members and 49 students from the Department of Biology and the Department of Tourism and Hospitality of the Rajarata University participated in this event. The main objective of this four day workshop was to provide an opportunity for the novice birders to obtain hands on experiences in bird identification and several basic bird study techniques. Further lectures conducted by Prof Kotagma provided more information on bird biology, Sri Lanka birds, Bird migration and on bird tourism/Eco-tourism principles. Download the Trip Report |
